Yoga is a timeless truth of Self discovery which is the supreme goal in life. Anyone can live a life of exploitation. It is easy to live just like the animals which will eat, sleep, mate and defend. Just enjoying the senses and pleasures of this temporary existence is exploitation. You have been given this precious, perfect and priceless human body free and clear and if you exploit it what good are you? Do you think you are going to have more fun than anyone else in the history of humanity? Step right up and follow the crowds to a life of miserable exploitation. Hey, at least while you were here you had fun and kept America’s economy ticking along and preserved her worthless culture of eat, drink and be merry.
Yoga has 8 branches and 7 of them deal with moving away from worthless temporary pleasures and shifting to ultimate realities of Self-discovery. Just one branch of Yoga deals with the physical body but this work helps to control the minds activity which is what this blog is all about. I am going to use a universal word to help you understand what I am writing about, that word is mindfulness. I could use the word meditation but many aren’t going to experience actual meditation in this 10 minutes a day 2 week transformation. So, we become more mindful and we make some decisions about our weaknesses and resolve to improve our approach to existence. This is mindfulness, this is realizing you have the power to control your moods but a little work is necessary. Let us begin molding you into a perfect specimen shall we?
Jesus said, Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. If one is supercilious, persnickety, moody, angry, sad, anxious, cold, proud, bad, mean, judgmental, imbalanced, destructive, emotional, impure, impulsive, negative, prejudice, jealous, hateful, egotistical, arrogant, stubborn, selfish, impatient, compulsive, obsessive or any other adjective you can add that is NOT perfect this is not what Yoga is. Jesus was a yogi, read The YOGA of Jesus by Yogananda, or The Wisdom of Jesus and the Yoga Siddhas by Govindan. These books can help open your eyes to Truth. You can also read any Yoga book because they all deal with Truth and perfection. What is perfection? YOU finally growing up and moving toward your true Self. When are you going to grow up? Well, growing up and moving toward perfection is a lot easier if you take 10 minutes a day for just two weeks working on mindfulness. Ok, last paragraph coming next on how to do this.
Perfection is in your eternal, all-knowing and blissful soul. This is the real YOU and you know deep down exactly what I am writing about don’t you? You and only you know your weaknesses and what adjectives describe you. Only you know what you need to work on and you’re the only one to make perfection a fun destination. Yes, this transformation actually becomes a fun existence and those around you will see and react differently toward you and just like Gandhi you can change you world! Here goes with the instruction on transforming you into a perfect rest of your life. Sit in a chair, on the floor or lie down. Close your eyes and slowly and silently repeat to yourself in your scattered childlike mind adjectives of the Soul, the true Self. Do this for just 10 minutes a day for 2 weeks and begin to train your mind from a demon to perfection. What words are demonic are the ones I already wrote down above. What words are perfect and adjectives of your already perfect Soul? You know which words need to be silently said to the mine-made child mind, don’t you?
